Hi, I'm Jason Hill, the face behind Five Oak Films. The name was born while I was gazing out into my backyard, admiring our five old oak trees standing tall. Then it struck me: how impressive the longevity and strength these trees have shown over the years. I realized the oak tree is a beautiful metaphor for marriage and what it takes: strength, wisdom, endurance, and love.

I'm a documentary-style, Chicago-based wedding videographer dedicated to capturing your story in a candid, authentic way. My passion for storytelling has always been rooted in a camera lens, but it wasn't until my wife and I got married in 2022 that I had a profound revelation: the immense, irreplaceable value of wedding films. We had skipped having a videographer for our own wedding, and now I truly understand how priceless it is to preserve those fleeting emotions and memories to cherish and share for generations.

Five Oak Films emerged from that personal insight. My mission is simple: to craft films that reflect your unique journey—unscripted, genuine, and unobtrusive. I want your wedding film to be more than a video; I want it to be an heirloom, a treasured keepsake for your family for years to come.

    We used Jason Hill for our wedding videography and were so pleased with our experience! Jason was very good at communicating, very punctual, and very professional.
